Jale Nejdet Erzen

Jale Nejdet Erzen, painter (Art Center College of Design, Los Angeles, 1973), art historian, is professor of art history and aesthetics courses at the Middle East Technical University, Dept. of Architecture.
She is a practicing artist with work in collections in
Turkey and abroad.
She has founded and edited the BOYUT journal of fine arts (1980-1985), is one of the founders and president of SANART Association for Aesthetics and Visual Culture holding international symposia on art since 1992, she has acted as secretary general of the International Association for Aesthetics between 1995 and 1998; she has been exhibiting in Turkey and abroad since 1973, has edited the arts section of the Journal of Architectural Culture (2000-2002) she has Turkish and international publications on aesthetics, Ottoman architecture and modern art.
She has lectured worldwide on environmental aesthetics and art related subjects.  She has received the French Ministry of Culture's Chevalier Award  for Arts and Letters 1990, the best Critic Award in
Turkey in 2000.
